The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Kovancilar SK's goal looked a bit too open when Menderes Kamber came free, but Efekan Kurtaran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baki Özbala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdurrahman Samet in the 5th minute of the match. Sivas's Baki Özbala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ekrem Beykan in the 6th minute of play. Baki Özbala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdurrahman Samet in the 8th minute of play. If Ekrem Beykan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. After 14 played minutes Kovancilar SK got a freekick which was hit by İstemihan Baray. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Ekrem Beykan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kovancilar SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ekrem Beykan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baki Özbala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abdurrahman Samet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Burhanettin Cevahir got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kovancilar SK's Efekan Kurtaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menderes Kamber in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Kovancilar SK getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Hasan Hüseyin Erdursun hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Abdurrahman Samet made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Sivas's zone, Abdurrahman Samet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baki Özbala came out of the goal and Abdurrahman Samet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 54 minutes, Ekrem Beykan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kovancilar SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ekrem Beykan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abdurrahman Samet took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baki Özbala. Baki Özbala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Baki Özbala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekrem Beykan in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Kovancilar SK getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Menderes Kamber ran back to his position shaking his head. Kovancilar SK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
