The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Süleymaniye's Yaman Açıker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nejat Eslem in the 6th minute of play. Süleymaniye's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Seyfi Sarp in the 10th minute. In the 14th minute Günay Sarper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Carta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nejat Eslem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Cabbar Erzincanlı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuele Carta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yavuzalp Kutsel in the 19th minute of the match. Yavuzalp Kutsel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Emanuele Carta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuele Carta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yavuzalp Kutsel in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Galata's goal looked a bit too open when Günay Sarper came free, but Emanuele Carta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yavuzalp Kutsel in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuele Carta saved Galata from getting behind. Günay Sarpers short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Emanuele Carta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Galata getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Enis Timuroz hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Süleymaniye's Günay Sarper got a free kick in the 87th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nejat Eslem in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yaman Açıker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st minute, Kurtuluş Turay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yaman Açıker was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Nejat Eslem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
