Necmettin Babayiğit hit a great ball. Arda Hürmüz hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Güven Onkal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aziz Durusan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arif Gaffar Aktan in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Cayyolu's İlbey Nurkan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aziz Durusan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arif Gaffar Aktan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Durusan having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. İlbey Nurkan was the one to do the kick off. Çağrı Beycan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Güven Onkal, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Arif Gaffar Aktan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Durusan having to interfere. When Güven Onkal, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 74 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Çağrı Beycan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Devlet Irak hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Seyfettin Tokyürek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batı Utkan, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Lütfü Kutulmuş charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lütfü Kutulmuş the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Van's Lütfü Kutulmuş got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Aziz Durusan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arif Gaffar Aktan in the 94th minute. The Cayyolu supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cayyolu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
