The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Özal Gökçek's late challenge caught a Sariveliler's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baran Süleyman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sezai Uzma came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Esme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sezai Uzma couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Necip Uraza was the one to do the kick off. Sungurbey Bilginer charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sariveliler's supporters crossed their fingers, but Devran Haliloğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Sariveliler's Baran Süleyman threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Suat Tuğaltay, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ragıp Saip could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Baran Süleyman made a huge save. Sezai Uzma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayri Gündoğan having to interfere. Hayri Gündoğan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdurrezzak Umar in the 96th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
