With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erdoğan Sümre in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erdal Oylum saved 1461 TRABZON FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Resul Uygan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet Nasir Arslanşah was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Kartal's zone, Rubens Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Nasir Arslanşah came out of the goal and Rubens Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Falcão Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1461 TRABZON FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erdoğan Sümre to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Kubilay Yengi notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of 1461 TRABZON FC's Erdal Oylum. Erdal Oylum was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 1461 TRABZON FC's Falcão Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
