The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Halis Nursal got free with Araldo Guerra in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Elazig SK's zone, Rüknettin Tuncay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lefter Bircanoğlu came out of the goal and Rüknettin Tuncay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Mikael Vassenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lefter Bircanoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Düzköy's Mikael Vassenius in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elazig SK's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Elazig SK's zone, Rüknettin Tuncay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lefter Bircanoğlu came out of the goal and Rüknettin Tuncay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lefter Bircanoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giray İçten in the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to Elazig SK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Arman Çağili hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Necmi Budun in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Araldo Guerra saved Düzköy from getting behind. Mikael Vassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giray İçten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lefter Bircanoğlu having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Elazig SK's goal looked a bit too open when Mikael Vassenius came free, but Lefter Bircanoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mikael Vassenius stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eray Tokuz during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Elazig SK got a freekick which was hit by Eray Tokuz. Mikael Vassenius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute, Mahir Ergener hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giray İçten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mikael Vassenius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lefter Bircanoğlu having to make a save. Araldo Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Necmi Budun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mehmet Halis Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Düzköy's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Halis Nursal came free, but Araldo Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Düzköy defense, Mehmet Halis Nursal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Araldo Guerra. The Düzköy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Araldo Guerra should have stopped the shot. Lefter Bircanoğlu came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Düzköy's Mikael Vassenius. But to his dismay, Mikael Vassenius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Rüknettin Tuncay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Mikael Vassenius took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Lefter Bircanoğlu to make any attempt to save it. If Vahit Kocaman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Arman Çağili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute of the match Vahit Kocaman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lefter Bircanoğlu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mikael Vassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rüknettin Tuncay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Lefter Bircanoğlu made a huge save. In the 96th minute Mikael Vassenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lefter Bircanoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Elazig SK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
