With an all-out effort, Gellénháza's Keld Paulsen threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pál Halász, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gábor Újházis short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Keld Paulsen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 15th minute, Chris Nygaard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pál Halász in the 16th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gellénháza's Gábor Újházi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Keld Paulsen. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. With his leg Keld Paulsen managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Gellénháza's Gábor Újházi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. In the 50th minute Pál Halász shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gábor Újházi made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Pál Halász made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0.
