With a left leg Kuddusî Zümer saved Simav from getting behind. 22 minutes into the game, İzzettin Sahat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Simav's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Edirne SK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Simav's İzzettin Sahat got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Simav booed when Edirne SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Songurbey Okman didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Songurbey Okman came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Edirne SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Songurbey Okman couldn't finish the play. Simav's Kuddusî Zümer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Songurbey Okman in the 33rd minute of play. Hamdi Erdurmus hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Songurbey Okman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simav's Kuddusî Zümer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Simav from getting a goal against them. When Murathan Salar fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edirne SK's protests and gave Murathan Salar a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gürbüz Akçakaya in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kuddusî Zümer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, İzzettin Sahat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Simav's supporters rose to their feet, but İzzettin Sahat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hazım Berksan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. İzzettin Sahat was the one to do the kick off. Kuddusî Zümer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kuddusî Zümer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Köksal Sebuktekin, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute.
