Ahmet Nasir Çeliksu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tansu Paşa in the 15th minute. In the 16th match minute, Trabzonspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bahri Taşdan to maneuver through the defense. When Türkeş İnceman came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Pasabahce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Türkeş İnceman couldn't finish the play. Hüsnü Suha hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzonspor's zone, Hüsnü Suha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osman Sümer came out of the goal and Hüsnü Suha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raik Şafakoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ahmet Nasir Çeliksu having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Pasabahce's Hasan Ali Davutoğlu got a free kick in the 39th minute. Osman Sümer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Baki Ersunal in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Tansu Paşa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hüsnü Suha hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. When Trabzonspor's Raik Şafakoğlu in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Tansu Paşa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trabzonspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Tansu Paşa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Nasir Çeliksu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kunter Olgunsoy charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kunter Olgunsoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, Kunter Olgunsoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Nasir Çeliksu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raik Şafakoğlu in the 79th minute of play. Raik Şafakoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ahmet Nasir Çeliksu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kunter Olgunsoy hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Pasabahce supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pasabahce would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
