The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mustafa Yaşar Usluer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batur Şirzat in the 9th minute of play. Erhan Aydoğan hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Cabbar Tublek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Latif Hüsrev hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Celtik SK's Batur Şirzat got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Celtik SK's Mustafa Orhan Umurbey got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Batur Şirzat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Mustafa Orhan Umurbey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Yaşar Usluer was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Songurhan Kutlan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

Songurhan Kutlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Hazım Birhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Celtik SK's Barbaros Visali got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55thth minute of the game Cabbar Tublek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Celtik SK's Hazım Birhan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mustafa Orhan Umurbey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mustafa Yaşar Usluer having to make a save. If Mustafa Orhan Umurbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hazım Birhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Songurhan Kutlan in the 69th minute of the match. Batur Şirzat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Mustafa Orhan Umurbey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mustafa Yaşar Usluer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sufi Ekvan ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Rafet Salahaddin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hazım Birhan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bahadırhan Ekici was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Üzümlü's Mustafa Yaşar Usluer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Batur Şirzat in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Celtik SK booed when Üzümlü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hadi Keskinel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Celtik SK's Alkın İğdemir broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 96th minute, Mustafa Orhan Umurbey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
