When Selim Özdilek fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merzifon JK's protests and gave Selim Özdilek a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Merzifon JK got a freekick which was hit by Selim Özdilek. When Eser Beytekin fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Etiler SK's protests and gave Eser Beytekin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Etiler SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eser Beytekin to maneuver through the defense. Ayberk Uygur's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Adnan Akdoruk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yusuf Aygüneş during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Etiler SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dursun Uraltay to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Umur Ramazan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adnan Akdoruk skillfully saved the ball. Mahmut Kayıhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeki Zabit having to interfere. Gökçen Bilge's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeki Zabit read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Gökçen Bilge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeki Zabit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 minutes, Arkın Akdoruk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merzifon JK and the Etiler SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Merzifon JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arkın Akdoruk to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Gökçen Bilge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeki Zabit. Merzifon JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gökçen Bilge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When Gökçen Bilge came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Etiler SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gökçen Bilge couldn't finish the play. Gökçen Bilge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mahmut Kayıhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Etiler SK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gökçen Bilge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Eser Beytekin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mahmut Kayıhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 58 minutes into the match, Merzifon JK's goal looked a bit too open when Gökçen Bilge came free, but Zeki Zabit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gökçen Bilge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Etiler SK's Gökçen Bilge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeki Zabit narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gökçen Bilge was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Mahmut Kayıhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Etiler SK's Mahmut Kayıhan got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Mahmut Kayıhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Etiler SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mahmut Kayıhan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeki Zabit breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zeki Zabit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gökçen Bilge, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
