With a left leg Müslüm Pekant saved Beyagac from getting behind. In the 14th minute, Ecevit Torkal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Müslüm Pekant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Müslüm Pekant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baha Işınay in the 22nd minute of play. Cevher Tokuş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dursun Ali Necdet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Fedai Gümüşcü managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pendik's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedai Gümüşcü was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Müslüm Pekant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
