After a rather tough play, Atasanayi FK's Şenel Ekemen got a free kick in the 4th minute. Burhan Kazakhan scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erkin Canberk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Bektaş Veli Gündüz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fehmi Erçetin in the 15th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Saffet İbiş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Oğuzer Onursoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Burhan Kazakhan succeeded in the game's 18th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. 23 minutes into the game, Burhan Kazakhan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Erkin Canberk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Saffet İbiş to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Atasanayi FK getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ferdi Zübeyr hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu to strike the kick off in the second half. Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saffet İbiş having to make a save. Duran Akil kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saffet İbiş came out of the goal and Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Baturhan Hacıahmetoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saffet İbiş was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Güralp Ağyar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erkin Canberk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Burhan Kazakhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Galatasaray supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Galatasaray would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
