In the 4th minute Sarp Uyguner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Hamit Sertel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Merih Demiral FC's goal looked a bit too open when Şeref Derim came free, but Mustafa Hamit Sertel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kemalettin İşcan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Selmi Tosun hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Abayhan Koyas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mustafa Hamit Sertel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abayhan Koyas in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustafa Hamit Sertel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the game, Gökmen Afak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merih Demiral FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Midyat the free kick. The supporters of Midyat booed when Merih Demiral FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökmen Afak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Koray Baykal's late challenge caught a Merih Demiral FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Koray Baykal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Merih Demiral FC booed when Midyat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koray Baykal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kemalettin İşcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Turgut Ecemiş having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koray Baykal in the 27th minute of play forced Merih Demiral FC's goalkeeper Mustafa Hamit Sertel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 played minutes Midyat got a freekick which was hit by Şeref Derim. After a rather tough play, Midyat's Koray Baykal got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Akay Dürüst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Turgut Ecemiş having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Şeref Derim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mustafa Hamit Sertel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Kemalettin İşcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Turgut Ecemiş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Midyat's Turgut Ecemiş played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akay Dürüst in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Merih Demiral FC's zone, Şeref Derim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Hamit Sertel came out of the goal and Şeref Derim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Şeref Derim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Hamit Sertel having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Akay Dürüst stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Midyat getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Şeref Derim hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şeref Derim got free with Mustafa Hamit Sertel in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the game, Akay Dürüst cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Turgut Ecemiş was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Midyat's zone, Kemalettin İşcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Turgut Ecemiş came out of the goal and Kemalettin İşcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th match minute, Midyat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abayhan Koyas to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute of the match, Şeref Derim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mustafa Hamit Sertel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Şeref Derim struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Mustafa Hamit Sertel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Midyat. 68 minutes into the game, Şeref Derim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After having played for 76 minutes, Abayhan Koyas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Midyat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abayhan Koyas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Midyat's Şeref Derim got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Şeref Derim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Hamit Sertel was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. If Şeref Derim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mustafa Hamit Sertel made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Selmi Tosun sent off a good shot on target. If Abayhan Koyas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tugay Musa hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Midyat's Şeref Derim got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abayhan Koyas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Hamit Sertel having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Midyat failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
