After a defensive mix-up in Elbeyli JK's zone, Cuma Ogansoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gazi Karluk came out of the goal and Cuma Ogansoy tried to chip the ball over his head. GALATASARAY SK's Yasin Yenal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenan Avcu in the 9th minute of play. Abay Tanzer kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of GALATASARAY SK booed when Elbeyli JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ekber Uçkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ekber Uçkan in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yasin Yenal saved GALATASARAY SK from getting behind. Kenan Avcu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yasin Yenal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ekber Uçkan to strike the kick off in the second half. Abay Tanzer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yasin Yenal having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Kenan Avcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute of the match, Ekber Uçkan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yasin Yenal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Fethi Cevizoğlu fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
