The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Ata Mengü had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Fahrettin Ünal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in BayburtSpor's zone, Ata Mengü stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fahrettin Ünal came out of the goal and Ata Mengü tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14thth minute of the game Bünyamin Nevzat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BayburtSpor's Fahrettin Ünal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Bünyamin Nevzat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Volkan Beşir in the 24th minute of play forced ARTVİN CİTY's goalkeeper Baturhan Ersan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Volkan Beşir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baturhan Ersan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored BayburtSpor's protests and gave Abdulmelik Nesip a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes BayburtSpor got a freekick which was hit by Abdulmelik Nesip. Ata Mengü fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fahrettin Ünal having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, BayburtSpor's Volkan Beşir sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baturhan Ersan narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Volkan Beşir made a kick off. ARTVİN CİTY's Vedat Karluk couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 56th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for BayburtSpor. After some careless play in the BayburtSpor defense, Ata Mengü kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fahrettin Ünal. The BayburtSpor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fahrettin Ünal should have stopped the shot. Mustafa Kemal Atabey kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match.
