Cevat Kutlay might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Gökalp Savgat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cevat Kutlay ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st minute Nihat İlham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Gökalp Savgat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Cevat Kutlay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ahmet Gökalp Savgat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Gebze Spor's zone, Ahmet Hasan Ünzil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Gökalp Savgat came out of the goal and Ahmet Hasan Ünzil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nihat İlham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Gökalp Savgat having to interfere. Nihat İlham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ahmet Gökalp Savgat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cevat Kutlay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cevat Kutlay to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sakaryaspor's Enginalp Soytekin got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 61st minute Cevat Kutlay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Gökalp Savgat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gebze Spor getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ömer Akburç hit a great ball.
