The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Atasehir getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Ahmet Seyfi Subutay hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, Eralp Urangu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hakkı Devrim Ersezer. İyonyalılar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eralp Urangu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Atasehir's Eralp Urangu in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye İyonyalılar's goalie prevented a goal. Yakup Ülkenur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atabek Acarbey charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Atabek Acarbey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Atabek Acarbey hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute, Şafak Alp sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and İyonyalılar's Hakkı Devrim Ersezer didn't even have to move. When Yakup Ülkenur came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the İyonyalılar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yakup Ülkenur couldn't finish the play. When Atasehir's Eralp Urangu in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye İyonyalılar's goalie prevented a goal. Kamuran Sakman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Hakkı Devrim Ersezer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to İyonyalılar getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Raşit Tanırcan hit a great ball. If Kamuran Sakman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raşit Tanırcan kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Kamuran Sakman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eralp Urangu made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Kamuran Sakman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atasehir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kamuran Sakman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hakkı Devrim Ersezer was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Eralp Urangu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eralp Urangu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eralp Urangu in the 63rd minute of play forced İyonyalılar's goalkeeper Hakkı Devrim Ersezer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ceyhan Keskiner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hakkı Devrim Ersezer made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Kamuran Sakman sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th match minute, İyonyalılar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altuğ Akdemirci to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the İyonyalılar defense, Eralp Urangu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hakkı Devrim Ersezer. The İyonyalılar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hakkı Devrim Ersezer should have stopped the shot. Ceyhan Keskiner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hakkı Devrim Ersezer was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Çelebi Demircioğlu. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Hakkı Devrim Ersezer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eralp Urangu in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hakkı Devrim Ersezer saved İyonyalılar from getting behind. Kamuran Sakman struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Hakkı Devrim Ersezer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atasehir. İyonyalılar's Hakkı Devrim Ersezer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eralp Urangu in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eralp Urangu in the 97th minute of play forced İyonyalılar's goalkeeper Hakkı Devrim Ersezer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Atasehir supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atasehir would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
