The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Cassiope SK's Vahap Yahya sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nazil Deren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Vahap Yahya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cassiope SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mustafa Oğuz Ergalip struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Vefa Perkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mersin Spor Kulubü. Vefa Perkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Muammer Taşkıner in the 13th minute. Mustafa Oğuz Ergalip hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Hakkı Onur Iğdırlı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nazil Deren having to interfere. Fehmi Doğay hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute, Selami Serkut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mustafa Oğuz Ergalip could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Vefa Perkin made a huge save. Nazil Deren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vahap Yahya's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Harun Özgiray was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cassiope SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mersin Spor Kulubü the free kick. A collision led to Cassiope SK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Harun Özgiray hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muammer Taşkıner got free with Vefa Perkin in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Mersin Spor Kulubü defense, Vahap Yahya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nazil Deren. The Mersin Spor Kulubü fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nazil Deren should have stopped the shot. Nazil Deren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harun Özgiray in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute Vahap Yahya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nazil Deren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After 51 played minutes Cassiope SK got a freekick which was hit by Doğaner Kutuner. Nazil Deren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vahap Yahya, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Mersin Spor Kulubü's Gürcan Rekin got a free kick in the 54th minute. Fehmi Doğay struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nazil Deren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cassiope SK. 59 minutes into the match, Mersin Spor Kulubü's goalkeeper Nazil Deren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harun Özgiray. 59 minutes into the game, Vahap Yahya recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nazil Deren. Vahap Yahya showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Vefa Perkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muammer Taşkıner, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Hakkı Onur Iğdırlı hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Nazil Deren came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Cassiope SK's Vahap Yahya. But to his dismay, Vahap Yahya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After 71 played minutes Cassiope SK got a freekick which was hit by Tolga Hataylı. Muammer Taşkıner struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Vefa Perkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mersin Spor Kulubü. In the 74th minute of the match Hakkı Onur Iğdırlı shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nazil Deren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Cassiope SK booed when Mersin Spor Kulubü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rıfat Gürler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Cassiope SK's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Oğuz Ergalip came free, but Vefa Perkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Fehmi Doğay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cassiope SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fehmi Doğay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th match minute, Cassiope SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fehmi Doğay to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Lemi Arısan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vefa Perkin. Cassiope SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lemi Arısan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. After 91 minutes of play, Mersin Spor Kulubü's Mustafa Oğuz Ergalip made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vefa Perkin was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Hakkı Onur Iğdırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Cassiope SK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mersin Spor Kulubü.
