Thanks to some nice moves Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Mirza Şahbey however easily saved by the left post. If Yıldıray Ceri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şeray Budak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but İbrahim Tun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. When Yıldıray Ceri came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Diyarbakir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yıldıray Ceri couldn't finish the play. Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mirza Şahbey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute, Cüneyt Tunçboğa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gencer Adanır sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Yıldıray Ceri fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diyarbakir's protests and gave Yıldıray Ceri a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Diyarbakir getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Yıldıray Ceri hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Demiralp Diriğ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yıldıray Ceri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gencer Adanır made a kick off. After 56 played minutes 1461 Trabzon got a freekick which was hit by Demiralp Diriğ. Mirza Şahbey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cüneyt Tunçboğa in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Diyarbakir's Tayfun Sati got a free kick in the 64th minute. Mirza Şahbey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Gencer Adanır sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Diyarbakir booed when 1461 Trabzon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg İbrahim Tun managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Diyarbakir's Şeray Budak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cevher Adalı hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Şeray Budak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but İbrahim Tun made a huge save. Mirza Şahbey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, 1461 Trabzon's İbrahim Tun got control of the ball when Şeray Budak tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Şeray Budak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A very good chance. 1461 Trabzon's İbrahim Tun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yıldıray Ceri in the 89th minute of play. Ahmet Erdem Kadrettin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Mirza Şahbey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mirza Şahbey came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by 1461 Trabzon's Gencer Adanır. But to his dismay, Gencer Adanır quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Diyarbakir's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
