Mehmet Akif Öztuna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berkay Ulucan in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berkay Ulucan in the 27th minute of play forced Klonay's goalkeeper Mehmet Akif Öztuna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Ahmet Rıfat Tuğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saadettin Seyfi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yılmaz Ilıcan having to interfere. Klonay's Doğuş Sahadettin got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Zeynel Rüştü fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PetrolSpor's protests and gave Zeynel Rüştü a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, PetrolSpor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeynel Rüştü to maneuver through the defense. If Saadettin Seyfi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berkay Ulucan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Klonay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doğuş Sahadettin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Doğuş Sahadettin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yılmaz Ilıcan having to interfere. A collision led to PetrolSpor getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Fahrettin Murathan hit a great ball. Doğuş Sahadettin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yılmaz Ilıcan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Doğuş Sahadettin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Klonay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Doğuş Sahadettin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Klonay's supporters rose to their feet, but Doğuş Sahadettin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yılmaz Ilıcan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doğuş Sahadettin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yılmaz Ilıcan having to interfere. Saadettin Seyfi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klonay's Saadettin Seyfi got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. PetrolSpor succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Klonay had controlled the match.
