After 6 minutes, Kamil Ülker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gürsu Spor and the Beşiktaş players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Gürsu Spor got a freekick which was hit by Kamil Ülker. After 12 played minutes Beşiktaş got a freekick which was hit by Ünsal Canver. After 15 minutes, Hasan Can Ünsal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beşiktaş and the Gürsu Spor players grew even worse after the yellow card. 14 minutes into the game, one of Beşiktaş:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Yücel Özsen charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yücel Özsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kartal Mevlit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kartal Mevlit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. İlyas Tolga Yalaza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vatan Ortun in the 26th minute of play forced Beşiktaş's goalkeeper İlyas Tolga Yalaza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beşiktaş's Cengizhan Saykal got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mehmet Şefik Gencay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ünsal Canver in the 36th minute of play. Cengizhan Saykal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Şefik Gencay having to interfere. İlyas Tolga Yalaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vatan Ortun, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Vatan Ortun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gürsu Spor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vatan Ortun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Cengizhan Saykal notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gürsu Spor's Mehmet Şefik Gencay. Mehmet Şefik Gencay was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kartal Mevlit made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Gürsu Spor's goal looked a bit too open when Cengizhan Saykal came free, but Mehmet Şefik Gencay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kartal Mevlit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İlyas Tolga Yalaza having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cengizhan Saykal in the 78th minute of play forced Gürsu Spor's goalkeeper Mehmet Şefik Gencay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cengizhan Saykal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Şefik Gencay having to interfere. Cengizhan Saykal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th match minute, Gürsu Spor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İstemihan Çubukcu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Gürsu Spor's zone, Cengizhan Saykal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehmet Şefik Gencay came out of the goal and Cengizhan Saykal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kartal Mevlit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vatan Ortun got free with İlyas Tolga Yalaza in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
