With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anıl Yıldıray in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reha Selahaddin saved GALATASARAY from getting behind. In the 9th minute, Süreyya Çokman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramazan Özdeş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Galatasaray's Gafur Veziroğlu in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Galatasaray's Yenal Semdin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Süreyya Çokman in the 32nd minute of play. Gafur Veziroğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramazan Özdeş recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Galatasaray were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Reha Selahaddin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramazan Özdeş, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Gafur Veziroğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Reha Selahaddin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cebrail Bilgehan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Süreyya Çokman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yenal Semdin having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Mehmet Emrah Türkmen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kerimhan Özaktuğ took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yenal Semdin. Galatasaray's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Reha Selahaddin made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Gafur Veziroğlu sent off a good shot on target. In the 70th minute, GALATASARAY's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ramazan Özdeş fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when GALATASARAY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artun İpekdal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramazan Özdeş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reha Selahaddin having to interfere. Galatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Anıl Yıldıray was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reha Selahaddin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Süreyya Çokman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yenal Semdin having to make a save. The Galatasaray players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
