Utku Şahkar succeeded in the game's 5th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Veysel İmralı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürbüz Ongul having to interfere. Tibet Tekiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Gürbüz Ongul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Şükrü Türehan fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Göynük JK's protests and gave Şükrü Türehan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute of the match Fehmi Murathan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferman Şah skillfully saved the ball. When Utku Şahkar came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Göynük JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Utku Şahkar couldn't finish the play. Mersin's Ferman Şah played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Utku Şahkar in the 38th minute of play. Fehmi Murathan made a great header on Göynük JK's corner, it was just that Mersin's Ferman Şah managed to reach the ball for a save. After 45 played minutes Göynük JK got a freekick which was hit by Utku Şahkar. Gürbüz Ongul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibet Tekiner in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tibet Tekiner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Mersin got a freekick which was hit by Abdulvahit Tanyel. Fehmi Murathan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Mersin's Berat Akçabay got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Arif Ensar Kuddus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Göynük JK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Ensar Kuddus in the 67th minute of play forced Mersin's goalkeeper Ferman Şah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Hürkan Okergun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute Arif Ensar Kuddus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferman Şah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berat Akçabay's late challenge caught a Göynük JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Berat Akçabay helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mersin fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Göynük JK a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fehmi Murathan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mersin's Ferman Şah. 3-1. 83 minutes into the match, Göynük JK's Utku Şahkar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferman Şah narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ferman Şah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Utku Şahkar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hürkan Okergun hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Arif Ensar Kuddus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute Utku Şahkar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferman Şah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Göynük JK were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mersin for a fine match.
