Though ot was a great shot Nakkaşspor's keeper Dündar Orgun was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. If Aktan Okergun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Veysel İmralı in the 40th minute of play forced Nakkaşspor's goalkeeper Dündar Orgun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Veysel İmralı was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Mersin's Berat Akçabay broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dündar Orgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veysel İmralı, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Tibet Tekiner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mersin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibet Tekiner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mersin's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
