In the 25th match minute, Mersin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Veysel İmralı to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Mersin's Ferman Şah got control of the ball when Tuncer Devan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ergin Şikel to strike the kick off in the second half. Bornova's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
