The audience thought a goal was coming when Tugay Hamurcuoğlu got free with Batur Seralp in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the game, Sarper Bicanoğlu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerkes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Black Canary the free kick. After 15 played minutes Cerkes got a freekick which was hit by Sarper Bicanoğlu. After 18 played minutes Black Canary got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Seyfi Baliç. Ahmet Fikret Peyam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cerkes booed when Black Canary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Seyfi Baliç didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 26 minutes into the game, when Hasan Ali Yersel put in a rough tackle. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Tugay Hamurcuoğlu made the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Fikret Peyam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorukhan Uludağ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The Cerkes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cerkes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
