In the 20th minute Bünyamin Yuluğ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Talat Oncubay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Cayyolu's Bünyamin Yuluğ sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Talat Oncubay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Ömer Rıza İdris came free, but Talat Oncubay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Necmettin Ziver fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bornova's protests and gave Necmettin Ziver a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bornova's Necmettin Ziver got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to Cayyolu getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nuh Bozbey hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Bünyamin Yuluğ came free, but Talat Oncubay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Baransel Tefhim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baransel Tefhim was the one to do the kick off. 64 minutes into the match, Bornova's Ahmet Ozan Korcan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zafer Durucan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cayyolu's Bünyamin Yuluğ got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emirhan Durusan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Talat Oncubay made a huge save. Talat Oncubay was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Emirhan Durusan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emirhan Durusan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Bünyamin Yuluğ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Talat Oncubay having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Bornova's goalkeeper Talat Oncubay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ömer Rıza İdris. When the match was over Cayyolu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bornova throughout the match.
