After 10 minutes, Necip Fazıl Levent mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merinos JK and the LA Lakers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Merinos JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Necip Fazıl Levent to maneuver through the defense. LA Lakers's Ahmet Rıfat Nedret proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save LA Lakers from getting a goal against them. Doğa Çalkın who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Ahmet Rıfat Nedret when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 27 played minutes LA Lakers got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Seyfi Mertkal. 29 minutes into the match, Doğa Çalkın had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmet Rıfat Nedret. LA Lakers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doğa Çalkın was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. With a little luck, LA Lakers's Ahmet Rıfat Nedret got control of the ball when Doğa Çalkın tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ahmet Rıfat Nedret made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doğa Çalkın in the 45th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Doğa Çalkın to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Haldun Recep left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merinos JK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 58 played minutes Merinos JK got a freekick which was hit by Ferhat Yazargil. Şerif Ulunay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abay Temizkanoğlu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Mehmet Akif Köksan charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mehmet Akif Köksan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute, Mehmet Akif Köksan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Babür Muhsin shot from long distance in the 66th minute, but Abay Temizkanoğlu was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Mehmet Akif Köksan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the LA Lakers defense, Doğa Çalkın kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmet Rıfat Nedret. The LA Lakers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmet Rıfat Nedret should have stopped the shot. The supporters of LA Lakers booed when Merinos JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdülhak İstikbal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind LA Lakers's goalkeeper Ahmet Rıfat Nedret, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ahmet Rıfat Nedret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferhat Yazargil in the 86th minute of the match. Doğa Çalkın sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doğa Çalkın received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ahmet Rıfat Nedret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Merinos JK were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of LA Lakers for a fine match.
