The supporters of Ankaragücü booed when Besiri JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayyam Ergüven didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Besiri JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arif Kuyas to maneuver through the defense. Ali Emir Özoğuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İhsan Baykır in the 24th minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Besiri JK got a freekick which was hit by Hayyam Ergüven. If İhsan Baykır had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes Besiri JK got a freekick which was hit by Arif Cengiz Mücahit. In the 44th minute Ankaragücü were awarded a corner. Talat Adak went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Talat Adak almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Besiri JK's Ali Emir Özoğuz did a great save. Melih Ayyıldız sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gani Temizsoy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Ankaragücü was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Halil İbrahim Okkan to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 53 minutes, Arif Cengiz Mücahit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Besiri JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arif Cengiz Mücahit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. İhsan Baykır received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ali Emir Özoğuz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eray Baybora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gani Temizsoy in the 66th minute of play. Mustafa Ekrem Taymaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arif Cengiz Mücahit hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Ankaragücü's Melih Ayyıldız was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 79th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With his leg Ali Emir Özoğuz managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Ankaragücü's İhsan Baykır fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 89th minute, İhsan Baykır ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ali Emir Özoğuz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Reşit İpekdal charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reşit İpekdal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 played minutes Ankaragücü got a freekick which was hit by Reşit İpekdal. Mustafa Ekrem Taymaz struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Eray Baybora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Besiri JK.
