Güray Kutlughan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LYON FC. Mehmet Halis Türkmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Güray Kutlughan having to interfere. Güray Kutlughan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aygün Namık in the 40th minute. Mehmet Halis Türkmen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute Taner Batıray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güray Kutlughan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nebi Çalımbay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in LYON FC's zone, Onur Ali Yoran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nebi Çalımbay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ahmet Ege Gülsoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 played minutes LYON FC got a freekick which was hit by Gürel Özerek. Nebi Çalımbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Ege Gülsoy having to interfere. Mehmet Halis Türkmen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. LYON FC's Aygün Namık got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that LYON FC were the better team. LYON FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
