The supporters of Sakaryaspor booed when Los Barbarianos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayri Asalet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Halil Can Erentürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehmet Erduran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Mehmet Erduran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Halil Can Erentürk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ömür Acaralp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Özalp Sanak made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hayri Asalet in the 26th minute of play forced Sakaryaspor's goalkeeper Özalp Sanak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tuncer İlteber in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Halil Can Erentürk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Halil Can Erentürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bektaş Veli Revis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Tuncer İlteber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mehmet Erduran was the one to do the kick off. Ömür Acaralp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özalp Sanak having to interfere. Mehmet Erduran was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Sakaryaspor's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Halil Can Erentürk made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Tuncer İlteber sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Sakaryaspor getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Seyfi Ufki hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Ömür Acaralp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Barbarianos's supporters rose to their feet, but Ömür Acaralp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özalp Sanak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Erduran in the 68th minute of play forced Los Barbarianos's goalkeeper Halil Can Erentürk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Mehmet Erduran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Halil Can Erentürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Halil Can Erentürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Erduran in the 96th minute of the match.
