Baykal Bilgiç acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 36th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gencal Yengi. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Metin Celvet made the kick off in the second half. If Mecnun Nurkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Metin Celvet couldn't finish the play. The Cengelköy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
