The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Çay Var Çay's Derman Özkent got a free kick in the 7th minute. Hayyam Sunguralp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Doğan Eryilmaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hayyam Sunguralp got free with Doğan Eryilmaz in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, Yıldırım Nesip hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Çay Var Çay's zone, Haydar Temizer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doğan Eryilmaz came out of the goal and Haydar Temizer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 15 played minutes Çay Var Çay got a freekick which was hit by Ertuğrul Kudret. Çay Var Çay's Doğan Eryilmaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haydar Temizer in the 16th minute of play. Hayyam Sunguralps short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Doğan Eryilmaz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Hayyam Sunguralp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doğan Eryilmaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haydar Temizer in the 28th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes Çay Var Çay got a freekick which was hit by Cevher Tokkan. Doğan Eryilmaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haydar Temizer, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haydar Temizer in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doğan Eryilmaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 40 minutes, Tuna Özdel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Genclerbirligi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tuna Özdel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Çay Var Çay's goal looked a bit too open when Haydar Temizer came free, but Doğan Eryilmaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Hayyam Sunguralp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Genclerbirligi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ahmet Refik Rafetoğulları made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ahmet Refik Rafetoğulları reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Oğuzer Kunter. The goal made the score 2-1. Doğan Eryilmaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hayyam Sunguralp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Haydar Temizer came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Genclerbirligi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haydar Temizer couldn't finish the play. Haydar Temizer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doğan Eryilmaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Doğan Eryilmaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hayyam Sunguralp in the 63rd minute of the match. When Cevher Tokkan fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Çay Var Çay's protests and gave Cevher Tokkan a yellow card for diving instead. Cevher Tokkan kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Haydar Temizer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hayyam Sunguralp might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doğan Eryilmaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hayyam Sunguralp ran back to his position shaking his head. Doğan Eryilmaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haydar Temizer, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Hayyam Sunguralp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Hayyam Sunguralp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doğan Eryilmaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haydar Temizer in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Çay Var Çay's goal looked a bit too open when Haydar Temizer came free, but Doğan Eryilmaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 83 played minutes Çay Var Çay got a freekick which was hit by Cevher Tokkan. After having played for 84 minutes, Hayyam Sunguralp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Genclerbirligi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hayyam Sunguralp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haydar Temizer in the 86th minute of play forced Çay Var Çay's goalkeeper Doğan Eryilmaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Çay Var Çay defense, Haydar Temizer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doğan Eryilmaz. The Çay Var Çay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doğan Eryilmaz should have stopped the shot. Haydar Temizer scored 4-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doğan Eryilmaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee ended the match the Genclerbirligi players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
