FC Elazığspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gürkan Kayrar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kılıçhan Ataergin charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A hard shot by Kılıçhan Ataergin from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Baki Yaman's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Baki Yaman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürkan Kayrar in the 37th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gürkan Kayrar made a kick off. If Yaser Denizcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. When Cumali Üstünbay came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Sahinbey FK fans jumped to their feet.
