The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Güven Doğanay kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Kutluay Aydoğan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cevdet Uluhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Beşiktaş's Celalettin İlenç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ergün Sarih in the 18th minute of play. Kutluay Aydoğan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Baran Bilge Türksan made a huge save. Celalettin İlenç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Okan Serafet, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With an all-out effort, Beşiktaş's Baran Bilge Türksan threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bekir Esendağ, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 40 minutes into the match, TRABZONSPOR's goalkeeper Baran Bilge Türksan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kutluay Aydoğan. Beşiktaş's Gürkan Tulun got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bekir Esendağ's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Baran Bilge Türksan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cevdet Uluhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baran Bilge Türksan having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeynel Işıker to strike the kick off in the second half. The Beşiktaş fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Beşiktaş's Cevdet Uluhan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th match minute, Beşiktaş was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fahrettin Türemen to maneuver through the defense. Erberk Ünsan, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Celalettin İlenç showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeynel Işıker in the 73rd minute of the match. Baran Bilge Türksan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gürkan Tulun's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Baran Bilge Türksan came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Beşiktaş's Kutluay Aydoğan. But to his dismay, Kutluay Aydoğan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Denizhan Muren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind TRABZONSPOR's goalkeeper Baran Bilge Türksan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celalettin İlenç didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Okan Serafet went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. When Denizhan Muren fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TRABZONSPOR's protests and gave Denizhan Muren a yellow card for diving instead. 99 minutes into the game, Kutluay Aydoğan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Baran Bilge Türksan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beşiktaş's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
