A hard shot by Baykam Baş from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Kayhan Üstündağ's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Olcay Pertev hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cennet booed when Galatasaray SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olcay Pertev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arif Tugay Tanberk took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kayhan Üstündağ. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray SK's Olcay Pertev got a free kick in the 37th minute. Ahmet Ege Özben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kayhan Üstündağ having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by İlyas Göktepe in the 41st minute of play forced Galatasaray SK's goalkeeper Kayhan Üstündağ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Ege Özben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kayhan Üstündağ having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when İlyas Göktepe made the kick off in the second half. Galatasaray SK's Mahsun Usun got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Galatasaray SK's Kayhan Üstündağ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Ege Özben in the 56th minute of play. If İlyas Göktepe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
