Galatasaray SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gs1905 the free kick. After 6 minutes Galatasaray SK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Devlet Vakkasoğlu who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Devlet Vakkasoğlu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Galatasaray SK's Kayhan Üstündağ did a great save. Gs1905's Cesur Palabıyık played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mahsun Usun in the 9th minute of play. After 10 minutes, İrfan Timuroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gs1905 and the Galatasaray SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gs1905 getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Devlet Vakkasoğlu hit a great ball. Cemal Sağcan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Cemal Sağcan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gs1905's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cemal Sağcan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesur Palabıyık didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mahsun Usun went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 34 minutes into the game, Saip Şükrü was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gs1905's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray SK the free kick. In the 36th minute of the match Hasan Oğuzhan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cesur Palabıyık showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Turan Ayaydın hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Cemal Sağcan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kayhan Üstündağ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Saip Şükrü hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 43 played minutes, Galatasaray SK's Olcay Pertev shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cesur Palabıyık came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galatasaray SK reached it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mahsun Usun was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Devlet Vakkasoğlu in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kayhan Üstündağ saved Galatasaray SK from getting behind. Gs1905's Cesur Palabıyık proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Gs1905 from getting a goal against them. After 56 played minutes Gs1905 got a freekick which was hit by Saip Şükrü. After 64 minutes of play Galatasaray SK's Baysal Toktamış was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Baysal Toktamış hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Cemal Sağcan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gs1905's supporters rose to their feet, but Cemal Sağcan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kayhan Üstündağ breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Devlet Vakkasoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olcay Pertev got free with Cesur Palabıyık in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
