In the 25thth minute of the game Ersan Yorangil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but fenerbahçe's Alpertunga Sav was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alpertunga Sav stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ersan Yorangil's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Abdullah İstanbul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Akay Cevher, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 42nd minute, fenerbahçe's Rahmi Oktan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Abdullah İstanbul. Abdullah İstanbul yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Abdullah İstanbul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akay Cevher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Akay Cevher made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Erol Revis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tahtakale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erol Revis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 53 played minutes fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Celalettin Bağcı. Alpertunga Sav showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şentürk Olgunsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Ersan Yorangil had several of the fenerbahçe's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. In the 95th minute, Bumin Varan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The fenerbahçe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. fenerbahçe had won after a very even match.
