The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Güngör Doğay fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KALE SPOR FK's protests and gave Güngör Doğay a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes KALE SPOR FK got a freekick which was hit by Güngör Doğay. Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Peker Karhan made a huge save. A collision led to MKE Ankaragücü getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Berkay Ramiz hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Selami Aliyar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peker Karhan was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the game, Berkay Ramiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MKE Ankaragücü's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KALE SPOR FK the free kick. Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. A very good chance for a goal. Selami Aliyar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peker Karhan having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Demir Isfahanlı managed to get in a good position for a shot. MKE Ankaragücü's supporters rose to their feet, but Demir Isfahanlı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vehdi Erdemalp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute Selami Aliyar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peker Karhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes of play MKE Ankaragücü's Berkay Ramiz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Berkay Ramiz kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Selami Aliyar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp got free with Peker Karhan in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. KALE SPOR FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. If Selami Aliyar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peker Karhan came out of the goal and Selami Aliyar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kerimhan Akçakoca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mustafa Necati Yavuzalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Peker Karhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selami Aliyar in the 92nd minute of play forced MKE Ankaragücü's goalkeeper Peker Karhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes MKE Ankaragücü got a freekick which was hit by Olcay Ünüvar.
