Korkutalp Öztanır started the match with the kick off. Medical Hatay's Tevfik Korhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sungurbey Çoğahan in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Güney JK getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Devran Erkinay hit a great ball. Arif Gaffar Temizkanoğlu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ünsal Yazıcı's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Güney JK's Sungurbey Çoğahan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tevfik Korhan. That made the score 1-1 after 31 minutes of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Güney JK's Sungurbey Çoğahan in the 40th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Tevfik Korhan was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Medical Hatay through an amazing save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sungurbey Çoğahan in the 44th minute of play forced Medical Hatay's goalkeeper Tevfik Korhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erman Tükel charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erman Tükel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Güney JK's Erman Tükel got a free kick in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sungurbey Çoğahan to make the kick off. Ünsal Yazıcı charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ünsal Yazıcı the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th minute, Ünsal Yazıcı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sungurbey Çoğahan's late challenge caught a Medical Hatay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Güney JK's goalkeeper Arif Gaffar Temizkanoğlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd minute of the match Dinçer Kamber sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arif Gaffar Temizkanoğlu skillfully saved the ball.
