The referee showed Beyhan Sıraç the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Oğuzhan Parshan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. The supporters of NEWROZ booed when GALATASARAY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arif Memduh Beycan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tahsin Ekşioğlu in the 37th minute of play forced GALATASARAY's goalkeeper Ahmet Ömür Demirkan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sait Ozan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özal Öveç having to interfere. Tahsin Ekşioğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ahmet Ömür Demirkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, GALATASARAY's Gürel Canpolat ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Özal Öveç. Özal Öveç yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Azim Soyuer charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Azim Soyuer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of NEWROZ booed when GALATASARAY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azim Soyuer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Tahsin Ekşioğlu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Ahmet Ömür Demirkan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ali Berkant Uzhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Özal Öveç made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Sait Ozan sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind GALATASARAY's goalkeeper Ahmet Ömür Demirkan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd match minute, NEWROZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alifonso Daire to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in GALATASARAY's zone, Alifonso Daire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Ömür Demirkan came out of the goal and Alifonso Daire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, NEWROZ's Tansel Eryetiş got a free kick in the 88th minute. A collision led to GALATASARAY getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Sait Ozan hit a great ball. With a little luck, NEWROZ's Özal Öveç got control of the ball when Sait Ozan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched GALATASARAY eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
