Datca's supporters rose to their feet, but Alparslan Paye was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Şensoy Tutkun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mücahit Tunay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baybars Baler having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haşmet Karanalp got free with Baybars Baler in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
