After a defensive mix-up in Ondokuzmayis's zone, Sermet Kumukbay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tansu Akçınar came out of the goal and Sermet Kumukbay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mustafa Haydar Baysan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Onurhan Bilgin in the 4th minute of the match. Sermet Kumukbay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ondokuzmayis's zone, Derya Neval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tansu Akçınar came out of the goal and Derya Neval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ondokuzmayis's goalkeeper Tansu Akçınar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tansu Akçınar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sermet Kumukbay went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Bektaş Ali Yönet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Haydar Baysan having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Onurhan Bilgin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Sermet Kumukbay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UrfaGücü fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, Ondokuzmayis's goal looked a bit too open when Derya Neval came free, but Tansu Akçınar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oktay Nursal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Müfit Şimşektürk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ondokuzmayis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UrfaGücü the free kick. The supporters of UrfaGücü booed when Ondokuzmayis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Müfit Şimşektürk didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Derya Neval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Derya Neval made the kick off in the second half. When Ata Canser in the 54th matchminute tried to hit away a contribution it went so bad that the ball went into own goal via right pole. A dismal self made goal which led to 0-3. After a rather tough play, UrfaGücü's Turgut Kılıçdaroğlu got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some careless play in the Ondokuzmayis defense, Sermet Kumukbay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tansu Akçınar. The Ondokuzmayis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tansu Akçınar should have stopped the shot. Oktay Nursal struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Tansu Akçınar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UrfaGücü.
