Güntekin Balaban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Ünal Aral notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of beşiktaş's Güntekin Balaban. Güntekin Balaban was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Haluk Sarıcabay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Güntekin Balaban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hüsmen Togay, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Arslan Taşkan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Berkin Bekdil hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Berkin Bekdil came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the beşiktaş fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berkin Bekdil couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, Berkin Bekdil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Altay Derman's late challenge caught a SivasSpor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Altay Derman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st match minute, beşiktaş was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Altay Derman to maneuver through the defense. Ünal Aral succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 60th playminute. If Haluk Sarıcabay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Üzeyir Özakan hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Haluk Sarıcabay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emrah İdilkurt came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by beşiktaş's Haluk Sarıcabay. But to his dismay, Haluk Sarıcabay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After 85 played minutes SivasSpor got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Boran Karanalp. Ayhan Fazilet was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The SivasSpor players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
