A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Fethi Oktay fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kars's protests and gave Fethi Oktay a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kars getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Fethi Oktay hit a great ball. Dinçer İkinci made an important save on a dangerous shot by İbrahim Ethem Avşaroğlu in the 22nd minute. Kazım Ihlamur hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Ceyhan Bozlak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ahmet Gündüz Şabi took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bektaş Özender. After a rather tough play, Eskişehir FC's Kazım Ihlamur got a free kick in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and İlmi Saltar made a kick off. Ahmet Gündüz Şabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Dinçer İkinci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ceyhan Bozlak's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Sungurhan Tan hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ceyhan Bozlak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that İbrahim Ethem Avşaroğlu couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Kars's zone, Kazım Ihlamur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bektaş Özender came out of the goal and Kazım Ihlamur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ahmet Gündüz Şabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bektaş Özender took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlmi Saltar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Kars supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Eskişehir FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Eskişehir FC.
