When Hamdi Acem fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Erzin's protests and gave Hamdi Acem a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Erzin got a freekick which was hit by Hamdi Acem. Ali Erdem İlbaşı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafettin Akersoy in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Erzin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamdi Acem to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 13 minutes, Besim Yağızer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sirkeci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Besim Yağızer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ünal Türksan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Erdem İlbaşı having to interfere. The Erzin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ali Erdem İlbaşı showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ünal Türksan, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sirkeci booed when Erzin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edip Serimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafettin Akersoy to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sirkeci's zone, Rafettin Akersoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Sirkeci's goalkeeper Ali Erdem İlbaşı had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ünal Türksan. Uğurcan Bekata's late challenge caught a Erzin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Uğurcan Bekata helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Erzin booed when Sirkeci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uğurcan Bekata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ünal Türksan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sirkeci's Ceyhun Bozkaya got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Ateş Çile fired a really elegant long shot, but Ali Erdem İlbaşı threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Sirkeci's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rafettin Akersoy 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Tuncay Demir's late challenge caught a Sirkeci's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tuncay Demir helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Erzin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuncay Demir to maneuver through the defense. After 89 played minutes Abdullatif Uygun shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Erzin's Orhan Veli Batıkan to catch but Abdullatif Uygun was lucky. It became 3-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Ünal Türksan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ali Erdem İlbaşı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafettin Akersoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Erdem İlbaşı having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Ünal Türksan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Erzin's supporters rose to their feet, but Ünal Türksan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Erdem İlbaşı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Sirkeci players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
