Sabri Usberk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Kadir Umural tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ali Numan Erbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kadir Umural having to interfere. If Erdoğan Yücesoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Sermet Öztaylan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 42nd minute, Hacı Reşan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Erdoğan Yücesoy came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Samsunspor SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erdoğan Yücesoy couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rüknettin Arıhan to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Fadıl Durukan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erdoğan Yücesoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seçkin Karadağ having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sermet Öztaylan in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kadir Umural prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 84th match minute, Samsunspor SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafet Karadeniz to maneuver through the defense. Kadir Umural took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Numan Erbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samsunspor SK's Kadir Umural played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sermet Öztaylan in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sermet Öztaylan in the 92nd minute of play forced Samsunspor SK's goalkeeper Kadir Umural to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rüknettin Arıhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
