Ankara Akademi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Celtik the free kick. The supporters of Celtik booed when Ankara Akademi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bünyamin Sökmensu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute Ünal Direm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarper Yiğiter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cüneyt Asalet kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ünal Direm in the 16th minute of play forced Celtik's goalkeeper Sarper Yiğiter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celtik's Mehmet Halis Ziya got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mesut Baldemir scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Faruk Uluer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sarper Yiğiter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ünal Direm in the 24th minute of play. Faruk Uluer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mesut Baldemir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faruk Uluer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Halis Ziya in the 28th minute of play. If Davut Oktar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mesut Baldemir in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faruk Uluer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Ankara Akademi's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Akkın came free, but Faruk Uluer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Gökçek Yetkin made a precise shot to the right of Faruk Uluer. Ankara Akademi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Davut Oktar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faruk Uluer having to make a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ünal Direm was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mesut Baldemir in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faruk Uluer saved Ankara Akademi from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davut Oktar in the 54th minute of play forced Ankara Akademi's goalkeeper Faruk Uluer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Ankara Akademi's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Akkın came free, but Faruk Uluer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celtik's Sarper Yiğiter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bünyamin Sökmensu in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Celtik's Davut Oktar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The audience was convinced that Mehmet Halis Ziya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faruk Uluer was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Mesut Baldemir scored 0-5 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Faruk Uluer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cüneyt Asalet showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. 89 minutes into the match, Celtik's Gökçek Yetkin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Faruk Uluer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Halis Çağlar in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faruk Uluer saved Ankara Akademi from getting behind. The Ankara Akademi fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Celtik were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
