Birkan Mengü was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Devlet Ruknettin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Devlet Ruknettin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Birkan Mengü made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devlet Ruknettin in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match Genç Spor got a corner. Sarigöl FK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ahmet Fikret Nejat ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Genç Spor's Ahmet Fikret Nejat to fire away a dangerous shot which Birkan Mengü despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Peker İlighan made a precise shot to the right of Alemdar Acaralp. Genç Spor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 37th minute, Ahmet Fikret Nejat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39thth minute of the game Peker İlighan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Genç Spor's Alemdar Acaralp was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ünsal Resul hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Peker İlighan in the 75th minute of play forced Genç Spor's goalkeeper Alemdar Acaralp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ünal Sağbilge charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ünal Sağbilge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Genç Spor's Devlet Ruknettin in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
